We adopted our dog from RPAW in November 2008. We searched petfinder for months looking for the perfect dog. WE FOUND HIM! He is a Pug/Chihuahua mix. RPAW named him Lilo. It was a new name so we changed it to Max. We live about five hours from where he was being fostered in Minnesota. In the few short hours it took to drive home, we fell in love with him.
He is high energy and loves to play. He loves to go for walks and to the dog park. He is also a cuddler. He loves to curl up in the down comforter on the bed and fall asleep. If he doesn't come running when we call, that's where he is. He rarely barks and has never bit anyone. He loves everyone including other dogs. He frequently has play dates with neighbor dogs in our back yard. He was house trained and it didn't take long for him to learn to ring the bells hanging at the back door to let us know he has to go out.
He is the perfect family dog and our family is very enriched since he came into our lives.
Thank you to RPAW and all the wonderful families who foster these animals and prepare them for adoption. You are doing a good thing and the world is a better place because of organizations like you that take these animals in and care for them.
