My wife and I are empty nesters and we adopted Jasmine from RPAW this past May - and what a nice addition to our life she's been! Jasmine is a Border collie/Labrador retriever mix and is 2 years old. She has oodles of energy and is very sociable with people and dogs. But rabbits and squirrels - beware! She's fast and will give you a good chase if given the chance.
She loves to play tug-of-war and fetch and her favorite toy is a stuffed chicken that crows when you throw it. One of her favorite activities is to go to the dog park and romp with the pack. There's a pond at the park and she rarely comes back dry, and a follow up bath is usually in order.
It took awhile, but our 16-year-old cat is now quite tolerant of Jasmine and only occasionally taunts her. For the most part, they choose to ignore each other, give each other their space, and live comfortably together. Morning, noon, or night, good weather or bad, walks are always welcome. Just put the leash on her, it doesn't matter by whom, and she's ready to partner up with you and hit the trail. Tummy rubs and scratches behind the ears are also welcome anytime.
Jasmine is a wonderful companion, and we're thankful to RPAW for putting her in touch with us.
